Until He Did

Friday Jan 05, 2024

Friday Jan 05, 2024

Simeon didn't know when he saw Jesus as a child that He was the Messiah, until he did. John the Baptist did not know Jesus was the Lamb of God, until he did. We sometimes do not know Jesus walks beside us, until our eyes are opened, and we see what we didn't know, until we did.

A Child Not My Own

Friday Dec 22, 2023

Friday Dec 22, 2023

I wonder what Joseph felt as he watched Jesus grow and become less of his little boy and more of what God had called him to be.  Our daughter's life took an unexpected turn, and she hung up her basketball sneakers and found her love of music again. It was then it hit me. This child was ours only for a little while but was quickly becoming her own, the masterpiece God had made her to be. He has always put her in the right place at the right time and I can see His hand in everything she does.

Soul Strings

Friday Dec 08, 2023

Music is prayer, my worship without words and I invite others into that sacred space. But I found my need to lead overshadowed my need to follow.

Knee Deep

Tuesday Dec 05, 2023

Tuesday Dec 05, 2023

I found myself “Knee Deep” on what was not my best day. Responsibility weighed heavy and greasing every squeaky wheel had me running faster than my angel could fly, as my mother would say. Unfortunately, a "humbling" occurs when I rely too much on my own footing.

A story of my heart running on empty.

Echoes

A silent church awaits a heart-wrenching melody. Fingers press ivory keys, felt hammers strike metal strings, music emerges through wood and iron - in Echoes. In the same way, our prayers, whether joyful or painful, journey through flesh and bone, breath and heartbeat to the heavenly realms - in Echoes. Yet unlike mimicked sounds bouncing off castle walls, prayers return in whispers, gentle (and not so gentle) nudges and God’s unique sense of humor - in Echoes.

Music flows through my fingers as lifeblood spilling over alternating ebony and ivory, intermingling with the precious blood of Christ. Melody and harmony in tune with the Almighty. Echoes Intertwined and Interwoven.
