Pink and Blues

Wednesday Apr 24, 2024

Wednesday Apr 24, 2024

Engulfed by the dawn's splendor, the weaving tale of my morning unfolds. With every burst of color and every breath of the morning air, I felt God's divine creation being revealed in its glory. I craved to capture the beautiful spectacle, but this moment, crafted specially for me, was for my heart to etch and nurture.
Even the finest artist fails to frame the true grandeur of nature, and here I was, lost in admiring the pinks and blues of the morning, the cotton candy cloud edges, and the sun's majestic dance.
It was my moment. I hope you find yours too.

Still Feet to Wash

Thursday Mar 28, 2024

Thursday Mar 28, 2024

In this episode, we are reminded of the perseverance necessary in every stage of life, from raising a newborn to caring for aging parents. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9. Sentiments of weary days and sleepless nights make it more than evident how the thought of yielding can be tempting.
These are the days when the strength in faith really takes a stance. As this tale unravels, we comprehend the timeless biblical message of endurance through the challenges of daily life. The candid reflection resonates deeply as we see ourselves in the throes of persistent tiredness and yet, always hopeful.
In the midst of our exhaustion, we are urged to find strength in Christ. Even at His weakest, Jesus found it vital to carve out time to share and perform acts of service. Borrowing that strength, we gather the courage to continue the journey, to pick up the fallen, to ensure care is given as it was once received.
The episode concludes on a note of introspective solitude, where relief is found in pouring out feelings into words. A gentle reminder to all in their own paths of weariness - incite courage, find peace in prayer, for there are still feet to wash. Recharge, renew, and be ready to face the days ahead, for your strength will surprise you.
Be blessed today!

Life Imitates Heart

Friday Mar 22, 2024

Friday Mar 22, 2024

Art may imitate life or vice versa, but for me, it is most important that life imitates not only art, but heart, God’s heart. As long as that remains true, all else will fall into place.

Pop the Clutch

When your battery is drained, it takes friends to push the truck, pop the clutch and get it going. Our lives are the same.

On a recent flight, I found it was more a journey of the soul than just of geographical space.

Beyond the Bucket

Friday Feb 02, 2024

Friday Feb 02, 2024

A front-end loader’s bucket has length, width, and depth. Add in a little math with curves and angles, and you find a volume, and that’s what it holds. It can only move so many loads in a day, and that’s all. Who are we to think we should do more?

Fishin's not about Catchin'

Friday Feb 02, 2024

Friday Feb 02, 2024

Fishin's was not always about catchin' fish. There is beauty in a properly tied lure or baiting a hook, to sit still and be quiet as “to not scare the fish away.”

Worry Buckets

In the presence of a miracle, why am I drawn toward the trouble that lies beyond its shadow? The question itself reveals the answer - “lies”.

Echoes

A silent church awaits a heart-wrenching melody. Fingers press ivory keys, felt hammers strike metal strings, music emerges through wood and iron - in Echoes. In the same way, our prayers, whether joyful or painful, journey through flesh and bone, breath and heartbeat to the heavenly realms - in Echoes. Yet unlike mimicked sounds bouncing off castle walls, prayers return in whispers, gentle (and not so gentle) nudges and God’s unique sense of humor - in Echoes.

Music flows through my fingers as lifeblood spilling over alternating ebony and ivory, intermingling with the precious blood of Christ. Melody and harmony in tune with the Almighty. Echoes Intertwined and Interwoven.
